Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell is the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, explains simple techniques that anyone can master. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of the top eateries in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy, and battled in Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking at an early age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her after she graduated with the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced the most enjoyable time of my life. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a great place to study. Following graduation, Chef Burrell lived in Italy for a whole year studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin star restaurant) in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she grew to truly appreciate and understand the philosophies behind Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression from a culinary point of view. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing difficulties. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor Burrell travels throughout the United States to discuss her passion for cooking as well as her profession. Anne in all her culinary journey has stated that it's an honor to be able to share this passion for life with others.
